Are black men more straightforward when it comes to flirting ? I think a couple of my students that I work with at my uni are making passes at me, saying nice things, asking if I want to drink a cup of coffee with them. Are they just being nice or have ulterior motives ?

In my experience, they are. Which is a good thing, I think. They tend to be more dominant and self assured. I'm sure they have ulterior motives. Go for it and enjoy it.

I think they are more these days, seeing more mixed couples and know white women are at least curious about what it would be like with a black man..I think it is a good thing.
My wife was a mental health counselor before she retired, she says her black clients asked her out much more than her white. She was always flattered.

I think they are more confident and persistent when it comes to flirting. And yes they have ulterior motive that you need to discover.

They are certainly more assertive and confident, which works in their favour.
