Pretty sure he’d preach about it
But, husband and I were visiting for a church years ago and called on one of the elders. He ushered most weeks and was very professional and nicely dressed. However, the Sunday afternoon we called on him he answered the door in his briefs and t-shirt saying that he was doing his laundry. We said we’d come back later but he insisted we come on in. After a short visit we heard the washer buzz and he excused himself. He returned in a minute wearing the same thing and said that he moved things to the dryer. I guess we were lucky he didn’t add what little he had on to the next load.
We left a little later and the next time we saw him was the following Sunday as he ushered.
Nobody ever said a word.
