For my wife it is a mixture. The first time she was not prepared and did not really think about it until after the deed was completed. Since then she makes sure she has condoms and uses them with lovers if she is not sure of them. She happens to have access to the medical records of all of the men that she has taken as lovers so she can check their history. Yes she can still get a bug but has a reasonable degree of safety. As to the risk of pregnancy, she is probably on the edge. Possible but not likely. Actually we both find that possibility very hot. We talked at great length and decided if it should happen, we will count it as a blessing and raise one more child.
