If they're fat, ugly, and/or old, there's a good chance they're real. If they're attractive, you can pretty much forget about it. It's easy to tell.

The simplest way to fix this would be for the site to REQUIRE a verification photo for all female profiles. Of course, that would eliminate 90% of the female profiles overnight and 100% of the attractive ones, so probably they have a vested interest in keeping things the way they are.

In any case, nothing is preventing individual members from doing this on their own. If you're actually real, then put up a verification photo! Don't leave people guessing. You will automatically get that much more attention and respect by verifying your identity. Simply write the name of the site and the date on a piece of paper and take a photo of you holding it up. Showing face or not. Either way.

Wow! A Mustang endorsement. And "a fact" even without any friends,(including Mustang) comments, location, about, gender, video, pictures on profile. i come on from time to time now, mostly to check messages. i follow through as far as i can with individuals until i find out if they are flakes or not. i work my way down the list. not many who are 'real', let alone ready or capable of doing something in real-time. i like to get a feel for what's what through individual interaction, mainly, i actually go for telephone numbers. yeah, talk to them. that always works for me, one way or another. cam works well, but i wouldn't know. i think i have been verified in a number of ways.

- how about contacting other people on their friend's list in order to gauge the level of contact or authenticity of the individual(s) in question? an ad-hoc community could grow from it, serving to verify and validate others. start a thread and keep track of it.
