My wife was 41 when she first experienced a black man, it took years prior to finally get her to give in and try it. She had several hesitations, the first was her upbringing where she was led to believe that the whole taboo factor was present. The second was that for most of her adult life, she’d never been around black men who weren’t immature and I will just leave it at that, but once she started meeting black men who she liked and admired in the workplace who had similar ambitions and career goals as she did, then the issue was, “What if I get hooked on this, what happens if I like this too much and end up leaving you? Is this a risk you’re willing to take?!”
I told her let’s try it first and see if you like it, then we can cross the next bridge, but first let your inhibitions down and experience it first.
