Behind the Green Door:
is a 1972 feature-length pornographic film, widely considered one of the genre's "classic" pictures. It was the first hardcore film widely released in the United States. It was the first feature-length film directed by the Mitchell brothers and starred Marilyn Chambers. It was adapted from an anonymous short story of the same title, which was circulated by means of numerous carbon copies. The story's title makes reference to the 1956 hit song "Green Door." The film was given an X-rating by the MPAA.

Marilyn Chambers plays the role of Gloria- Her first heterosexual scene in the film is with the boxer Johnny Keyes, accompanied by a jazz soundtrack. This possibly makes Behind the Green Door the first U.S. feature-length hardcore film to include an interracial sex scene.

I vaguely remember that film. I do remember how much more taboo it was back when I went Black. The looks I used to get pushing my first Black baby around in a stroller were priceless! Now it barely warrants a casual glance but was quite groundbreaking back in my day.

Now for the hard to believe part: In the late 1990s, Chambers was scheduled, with newspaper advertisements, to make an appearance at a top Dallas stripclub. I attended. She was there only to sell DVDs, pose and sell photos with us horny guys. I am a nice looking guy with decent bs. The turnout was decent but not great. After the crowd dwindled, we started talking. Time came for her to get a cab and head for the airport. I offered to give her a ride instead and she accepted. On the way, I asked the question. She smiled teasingly at me, like she had been asked this a 1,000 times. She said that she and Johnnie went out on a date, but agreed to not screw until time came on camera. She was going through a divorce, and somehow thought it okay to do it as "acting". Keyes was only the third guy she had been with, and the first black guy. I guess she gave me the answer she figured I wanted to hear. Looking back, I do not know if she was telling me the truth.

The way she went down as one of the legends of Porn I find it hard to believe too.. but I do think if she did fuck J.k. then he might have been her 1st BBC.. I just got a copy of the Green door.. time to see that mainstream busting scene.... thanks for the info!

Chambers was on a famous soap box (with a baby) and lost that after the movie came out. I was in my early 20's and vividly remember the slo-mo, multi-colored cum shots, from different angles.
