Mr. Marcus got syph, from Balleralert
You might remember last summer, the adult film industry was hit with a syphilis scare and shut down. P0rn stars had to get shots and tests to prove that they weren't infected with the STD, syphilis. Patient zero in this case was none other than the famous veteran adult film star, Mr. Marcus. Rumor had it that Mr. Marcus altered his syphilis test so he could shoot a few p0rn scenes. Pictures hit twitter of his infected penis with sores everywhere (CLICK HERE TO VIEW NSFW PIC) and I went on a long twitter rant about it that summer. It didn't hurt MY pockets, but other acquaintances of mine had to stop filming because of the syphilis outbreak.
Last night on twitter, I came across this article from Huffington Post about Mr. Marcus, real name Jesse Spencer, spending time in jail and him being sued in civil court. I once again took to twitter, laughed about it and threw some shots at him. Only this time Mr. Marcus replied back, there was some brief twitter beef between us last night. He said some things, I called him "a walking 2012 Tuskegee experiment.", and well we went back and forth. Marcus tweeted that he'd call me and tell me his side of the Syphilis fiasco. As soon as Mr. Marcus and I exchanged some non-pleasant pleasantries he jumped right into it.
On Whether He Intentionally Infected His Co-Stars With Syphilis
"I did not go out there and try to f***ing intentionally get anybody infected. From my heart man, up to God, I thought it was something that was just a skin rash. I went out and bought some damn Carmex lotion (it's an everyday hydrating lotion), I put it on [my penis] and I thought it made it look better. That coupled with things going on with my hands, little brown spots or whatever, I looked things up on the internet and I'm telling you, only thing that came up was a vitamin deficiency and that I need more vitamins. I went out and bought vitamins and Carmex.
Syphilis is called the great imitator it supposedly looks like other diseases, problems, symptoms and it's never related to just a std. 20 years in this business and only STD's I was aware of is gonorrhea and chlamydia.
You gotta understand that when I worked with that girl I had a FRESH test. NOTHING came back saying, hey you need to go to the doctor, get a checkup, a shot, not a single damn thing. I used the lotion and it made it look better."
On Wishing He Handled The Situation Differently
"In hindsight, I wish I did it way differently but I DID NOT KNOW and I wanna make that very clear. By the time my doctor's appointment came around, back on July 11th or so, he was like 'your symptoms look like it could be syphilis.' First time I ever heard that word. The doctor said it's easy, it's a simple fix (shot in the rear), a simple bacteria, look it up, syphilis is non contagious 24 hours after that shot. The medicines worked because not a single person I worked with before, during, or after that shoot was infected and that's the truth, that's the bottom f***ing line."
On How His Life Has Changed Since The Syphilis News Broke
"I've lost a lot. I've struggled because of this. I just had to go to court, to jail and been on the front page news. I paid the price. I wasn't trying to f*** anybody over. I went and got the shot and did exactly what the doctor told me to do. I even waited 11 days (before having sex).
It's unfortunate I went through this s**t, it's part of being in the adult film industry. STD's DO happen. It happens. People catch STD's often. You know what the difference is? They get privacy. They go through it in a private matter and nobody has to know, they go get it treated and come back and get re-tested."
On People Learning From His Mistakes
"The most important thing if you're a young man/sister having sex, go get tested, look for things, go to your doctor, do it regularly especially, if you're promiscuous. If you really ain't sure throw on a condom and you won't have to go through what I'm going through. I hope all this s**t is for a reason and people learn a lesson from it. A lot of people don't know, get embarrassed and feel ashamed because they have a STD, that's what makes people hide it because people make 'em feel like s**t if you test positive and especially if you're promiscuous."
Wow, right? Yeah, I felt a tad bit bad on how I went in on Mr. Marcus last night on twitter. During our interview all I heard was a man that's being tormented. Marcus is LEGITIMATELY sympathetic to this whole fiasco. Marcus stressed to me that he wanted his fans and everyone reading this to know he did NOT intentionally do this. It wasn't out of spite and he, legitimately thought that it was a skin rash. NOW, I had to *side eye* him because *I* know if my vagina had sores all over it, I'd be in my GYN, legs spread apart on that table and asking what is THIS. I wouldn't search on WebMD or Google for "pimples on vagina lips." feel me? He definitely regrets that decision and wished he could do things differently...but, we all know that we can't go back and correct or f***ups.
