Yeah, a lot of scammers are on there always looking to direct you to some website of somekind. But it can work if you carefully weed out the spammers. Take the time to write a serious sounding ad and list some honest descriptions about yourself and what you are looking for. Just don't give out private info such as cell numbers and email addresses. I have saw some people use a combination of numbers and the spelling of numbers (to prevent computer bots from finding numbers when they scan ads) to put their cell numbers and email addresses in an ad but I don't recommend it. I say let the Craigslist system forward replies to you and keep your email and other info private until you have found someone you trust. And do something clever to help you figure out who is legit. Come up with a unique word or phrase and tell them somewhere in the ad to put that in the subject line when they reply and when something comes in your inbox that doesn't have it, don't even open it just delete it. Anyone who is really wanting to meet will read the ad and take the time to send correct replies.
