I reckon it is down to "survival of the fittest" or evolution, it does not make sense that any species of creature would want it's weak members to breed as it would end up weakening the species in the long run. Just like wolves, the alpha male is the one who dominates the rest and fights his ways to the top, he gets to breed wit hall the females in the pack, all of the other males stand down, and females don't want their inferior sperm.

I couldn't get my wife pregnant in months of trying, her egg and womb wouldn't except my sperm. So my woman wants to be bred with the best sperm, with the most unrelated DNA, so she chooses a large black guy....And hey presto, pregnant in one fuck.
